EDash and Spreadsheet Server is Excel based. Not Excel "like", but actual Excel that you use every day. It is simple, straightforward, and allows you to present data from the VISUAL database in Excel. You manipulate and view the data using Excel tools.
Why two products? Simple, each is designed for a different purpose:
Spreadsheet Server – This tool is designed for the financial end of the business.The data source is your G/L structure; no query development required.Simply define a G/L account (or group of accounts) in each row, and the period in each column, and your financial report is done.Need consolidated reports for multiple VISUAL databases?It's a snap with Spreadsheet Server.
EDash – This is a traditional reporting tool, with one exception: The presentation layer is Excel.Any database is your data source; you would then use the intuitive query tool to develop your queries.
Both products takes you to the next level by allowing you to drill down to supporting data; and with Visual South's exclusive VISUAL Launch for EDash, you can drill into the actual VISUAL transaction screen.
In addition, both products come bundled with Distribution Manager, allowing the data to be easily distributed within, or outside, your organization.
