Each post highlights a specific feature within [**Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI)**](https://www.visualsouth.com/cloudsuite-industrial). In this one, we’re diving into **Real-Time Validation And Pricing**. You’ll get a clear explanation of how it works and expert insight from Visual South’s Nick Mendolia. Nick has implemented ERP for real manufacturers and knows what the documentation doesn’t tell you. Here’s what we’re focusing on today: - **Feature:** Real-Time Validation And Pricing - **Module:** CPQ Enterprise Configurator - **Product:** Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) ## Real-Time Validation And Pricing Overview Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) uses the CPQ Enterprise Configurator to validate product configurations and calculate pricing in real time. As users make selections during the configuration process, the system immediately checks that the configuration is valid and applies the appropriate pricing rules. This ensures that quotes are always based on configurations that can actually be built—and priced accurately based on cost drivers, markup rules, or customer-specific pricing agreements. Whether used by internal sales teams, dealers, or end customers, real-time validation and pricing reduce quoting errors, eliminate manual review steps, and help teams respond to customers faster with confidence. ## Expert's Take on Real-Time Validation And Pricing **Nick Mendolia** highlights the importance of getting immediate feedback as users build a configuration. With real-time validation, the system can instantly flag any invalid selections or dependencies as they occur—before the user finalizes the quote. > "You're not waiting for someone in engineering to say 'that won’t work'—you find out right away during the configuration." Nick also explains that pricing is handled dynamically, using logic that reflects real business rules. It can consider option-based pricing, tiered costs, custom markup formulas, or even customer-specific contract pricing. He emphasizes that this isn’t just a static price list—it’s an intelligent pricing engine that adapts to what the user selects in the configurator. > "You're building a configuration and getting a live, accurate price based on the choices you're making—that’s a game changer."
