This article is part of our CloudSuite Industrial Feature Focus series.
Each post highlights a specific feature within Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI). In this one, we’re diving into Document Management Integration.
You’ll get a clear explanation of how it works and expert insight from Visual South’s Nick Mendolia. Nick has implemented ERP for real manufacturers and knows what the documentation doesn’t tell you.
Here’s what we’re focusing on today:
Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) integrates with Infor Document Management (IDM) to provide centralized, secure control over business documents. This integration allows users to attach, store, and access documents like purchase orders, invoices, packing slips, engineering drawings, and more—directly within the ERP interface.
IDM supports role-based permissions, version control, and audit trails to ensure accuracy and compliance. By embedding document management into CSI, manufacturers can reduce paper usage, avoid lost files, and make key documents available at the point of use.
Whether it’s a spec sheet tied to an item or a signed quote linked to a customer order, the integration keeps documentation organized and accessible across departments.
Nick Mendolia explains that document management integration is especially valuable during quoting and engineering processes. When CSI is integrated with Infor Document Management (IDM), files are no longer stored in disconnected folders—they're linked to ERP records where they're needed.
"You can attach supporting documents to your quotes, sales orders, jobs, items—whatever object you’re working with. Everything’s centralized and traceable."
This improves visibility for cross-functional teams. Engineers can find the latest spec. Sales can pull up the signed quote. And production can confirm they’re working from the correct version of a drawing.
Nick notes that IDM also helps companies avoid version control issues and reduce paper handling. It supports better collaboration, especially when teams are remote or working across multiple facilities.
"You’re not relying on file shares and tribal knowledge anymore. It’s all in the system."
