This article is part of our CloudSuite Industrial Feature Focus series.
Each post highlights a specific feature within Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI). In this one, we’re diving into Preconfigured Business Processes.
You’ll get a clear explanation of how it works and expert insight from Visual South’s Nick Mendolia. Nick has implemented ERP for real manufacturers and knows what the documentation doesn’t tell you.
Here’s what we’re focusing on today:
- Feature: Preconfigured Business Processes
- Module: Process Intelligence
- Product: Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI)
Preconfigured Business Processes Overview
Preconfigured Business Processes in Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) are part of the Process Intelligence toolset. These are industry-standard process maps, such as Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, or Engineer-to-Order, that are delivered out-of-the-box and fully clickable. CSI customers can use these predefined workflows to accelerate implementation, train users, and standardize operations.
Each process includes visual swim lanes, links to corresponding forms, and editable steps, giving teams a valuable starting point. Instead of building process documentation from scratch, teams can refine what's already mapped. These standard processes also serve as a launchpad for rapid configuration and optimization during implementation projects.
Expert's Take on Preconfigured Business Processes
Nick Mendolia, Director of Client Solutions at Visual South, explains that one of the biggest implementation challenges for manufacturers is simply knowing where to begin. CSI’s preconfigured business processes remove that guesswork.
“The hardest thing about any standard operating procedures for a company is starting them. These preconfigured processes give you a great starting point—not only for implementing the system, but for helping new users learn how it works.”
Nick points out that these aren’t just visual guides; they’re interactive. Users can click into any part of the process and jump directly to the associated CSI form to execute tasks. This makes it easier to follow and adapt processes in real time.
Customers also benefit from flexibility. If a manufacturer’s internal process is slightly different, the predefined map can be modified rather than built from scratch. This accelerates alignment between operations and system configuration.
“It’s always easier to modify something that exists versus starting from scratch. These industry-standard processes give companies a head start.”
