This article is part of our CloudSuite Industrial Feature Focus series.
Each post highlights a specific feature within Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI). In this one, we’re diving into Vendor Portal.
You’ll get a clear explanation of how it works and expert insight from Visual South’s Nick Mendolia. Nick has implemented ERP for real manufacturers and knows what the documentation doesn’t tell you.
Here’s what we’re focusing on today:
- Feature: Vendor Portal
- Module: Portals
- Product: Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI)
Vendor Portal Overview
The Vendor Portal in Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) is designed to streamline communication and coordination with your suppliers. It provides a secure space for vendors to view material planning data, update delivery dates, and respond to changes in demand.
One powerful use case is exposing planned orders before they’re formally released. This gives vendors early visibility into upcoming demand and helps them prepare inventory or production accordingly. CSI users can choose what to share based on their vendor relationships and policies.
The portal also supports interactions that would traditionally take place over email—such as confirming delivery dates, updating quantities, or negotiating pricing—making the purchasing process more efficient and integrated with the ERP.
Expert's Take on Vendor Portal
According to Nick Mendolia:
"Vendor Portal is the ability to give your vendors an opportunity to see material planning... the sooner they see that demand, the quicker they can respond and make sure they have stock ready when you actually release and place the order."
He also noted that vendors can update delivery dates, which directly impacts your ERP’s material planning accuracy and responsiveness.
