Infor SyteLine has been around for over 30 years and has operated under a few different names and brands during that time. The product has been called Symix, Frontstep, and SyteLine. Most recently, Infor rebranded to CloudSuite Industrial, but the SyteLine name really never went away, so you will hear these terms used interchangeably among people who work with the product.That being said, if you’re questioning whether Infor SyteLine and CloudSuite Industrial are the same product, the simple answer is no. I will explain more below. ### What is CloudSuite Industrial? CloudSuite is really a “wrapper” of functionality around the ERP, which is SyteLine. So, CloudSuite Industrial is SyteLine ERP with Infor’s CloudSuite functionality wrapped around it. The CloudSuite has functionality that works with Infor’s ERP products, including: - **Infor Document Management** – Attach documents to the ERP forms, check in/check out documents, and manage document revision levels. - **Collaboration** – Think of this functionality as Facebook for the ERP. For example, users can choose to follow a customer order then communicate in the context of the order using the collaboration tool, instead of relying on emails and phone calls. This creates a “feed” of what is going on with the customer order. - **Birst** – Integrate business intelligence with the ERP to enable graphing, analytics, and data visualization using ERP data. - **Coleman** – Integrate artificial intelligence and voice control with the ERP. For example, say, “Coleman, open the customer order entry form,” and the task is done via the user’s voice commands, as opposed to a keyboard and mouse. ### What is SyteLine? Infor ERP SyteLine is a manufacturing-specific ERP that sits inside the CloudSuite wrapper. It provides traditional ERP functionality and processes like Quote to Cash, Requisition to Payment, and everything in between, even including a robust service management solution.
